Kia ora, Malo e lelei, Malo tau lava & warm Pasefika greetings!
My name is Sione, and I am a post graduate student pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and Addictions at AUT, with the ambition of advancing to a Masters in Health Practice, and PhD in 2025.
In my role at StandingTallNZ, I serve as the administrator and Pacific Liason Officer for Youth, where I focus on developing online opportunities for Pacific communities to engage in meaningful discussions about violence and access culturally relevant support. In this capacity, I also work collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance awareness of mental health and addiction issues, ensuring that interventions are respectful of and responsive to the diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of Pacific individuals and families. Through this multi-faceted approach, I aim to create a supportive environment for dialogue and healing, empowering our communities with the resources they need to thrive.
Here is a podcast interview I did on education and goal setting.
